dr max lingo veneersDr. Max Lingo of Evansville, Indiana, provides tooth restoration and tooth replacement treatments that are designed to function exceptionally well, as well as restore aesthetics to the patient’s smile. The crown and bridge treatments we use are porcelain based, and are both durable and color-matched so that they most closely resemble the appearance of the other teeth in the patient’s mouth.

Full Coverage Crowns

Crowns, typically, are used to repair teeth that have been severely damaged by tooth decay or fracture. Covering the entire tooth with this restoration technique, allows it to continue functioning normally, without discomfort. Our crowns often last as long 20 years or more, when the average dental crown typically only lasts 7-10 years.

Multi-tooth Dental Bridges

A dental bridge is most often used when one or two teeth are missing. These are implanted in one of two ways. It can be anchored onto adjacent healthy teeth, suspending the false crowns over the open space where the teeth are missing. It can also be placed onto dental implants if there are several missing teeth in one area. By replacing missing teeth with a bridge, other teeth are prevented from shifting out of place. Bridges serve a multi-function. First with your bite, and secondly, they help retain the spacing of teeth throughout your mouth.

The Crown vs. Bridge Treatment Process

Completing both of these procedures is very similar. Both treatments take two visits. On the first appointment the anchoring tooth is adjusted so that it can support the crown or bridge. An impression is taken and a temporary restoration is placed over the tooth or teeth. When placing a crown or bridge in the front of your smile, Dr. Lingo uses BioTemps® for the temporary restoration at no additional charge. This ensures that our patients have a natural looking temporary while waiting for the permanent. 2-3 weeks later, the permanent crown or bridge will be ready for delivery. The temporary restoration is then removed and then the permanent restoration is bonded into place.

Porcelain veneers are a wonderful option if you’re looking to completely make over your entire smile. Instead of using a combination of various different treatments, veneers provide a one-time dramatic upgrade to your smile. Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are placed over the front of teeth, helping them look: straighter, whiter and fuller. Veneers are a perfect option for teeth that are: chipped, discolored, have spaces between them, are shorter, worn, or misshaped and if the teeth are slightly crooked.

The Treatment Process

Your first visit with Dr. Max Lingo will be a consultation where you will discuss your smile concerns. We want to know what you want your future smile to look like. Do you have chipped enamel, crooked teeth, or discoloration that you want to correct? All of this will be discussed, as well as. We then take an impression of your teeth and make a mock-up of what your potential veneers will look like. Once you’re ready to move forward, we will have a preparation visit where your teeth are gently contoured and a new impression is taken. Temporary veneers will be placed over the teeth to prevent sensitivity as the permanent porcelain veneers are being made. Within about 2-3 weeks, you’ll come back for your new veneers to be bonded permanently into place.

Dr. Max Lingo has completed many cosmetic dental procedures which include installing crowns, bridges and veneers, making him a perfect implant dentist to see to improve your smile.
