From the world renowned Beach Party to a shopping night along famed Lincoln Road Mall, the 2012 Winter Party Festival, February 29 to March 5, 2012, features some of the most amazing events on the planet. Acting as home base for all the energy and excitement will be the new Surfcomber Miami, South Beach, now a Kimpton Hotel property, which is once again the official host hotel for the event, announced Russell Roybal, deputy executive director of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, producers of the Winter Party Festival.

To celebrate the partnership with Kimpton this year, the Surfcomber will host Winter Party Festival’s welcome event, “Spark,” on Wednesday, February 29. For “Spark,” the hotel will provide hors d’oeuvres from its new restaurant and donate a two-night stay as a raffle prize for attendees. In addition, the Surfcomber will once again be the location for the Welcome Center as well as the “Hell & Heaven at the Pool” event on Friday, March 2, and the “Under One Sun Pool Party” on Saturday, March 3.

The accolades Kimpton has received from the LGBT community include a 100% Corporate Equality Index rating and “Best Place to Work” designation from the Human Rights Campaign and the 2011 International Business Leadership Award from Equality Forum. In addition, the hotel’s annual Red Ribbon Campaign raised $150,000 last year for local HIV/AIDS charities.
Since taking over the Surfcomber last April, Kimpton has initiated a top-to-bottom renovation of the 1948 Art Deco gem. Surfcomber’s new design-driven spaces will marry the eclectic style of European Bohemia with a down home American front porch appeal. The design will create an inviting and comfortable atmosphere, with elements of surprise throughout.
